Kawempe Muslim Shares Spoils with South Africa in Thrilling Opener

The Amaani Stadium witnessed an electrifying match today morning as Kawempe Muslim and South Africa played to a draw in their CAF African Schools Championship opener. Shadia Nabirye put Uganda ahead in the 4th minute, and the team dominated the first half with several attacks.

South Africa’s Rithabile Molefe came close to equalizing in the 25th minute, but goalkeeper Huda Ayikoru made a crucial save. However, South Africa was awarded a penalty in the 36th minute, which Molefe converted to level the score.

Kawempe Muslim faces Togo tomorrow at 9:00 am, while South Africa takes on Gambia at the same time. Uganda’s final group fixture against Gambia is scheduled for 11:00 am tomorrow, with a spot in the semi-finals on the line.
