ISF BASKETBALL: Uganda girls’ team falls to China II in second game.

Uganda’s girls basketball team suffered their second defeat in the tournament, losing 61-41 to China II. This follows their 69-43 loss to Chinese Taipei in the first game.

The game was closely contested, with China II edging out Uganda in each quarter.

Despite the loss, Uganda showed improvement in their performance, with Captain Christine Namyalo leading the charge with an impressive 12 points. Uganda’s performance in the third quarter, where they tied with China, showed their potential and growth in the tournament.

Uganda currently sits last in their group with 2 points from two games played. Their final group game is against France on Saturday.

While their chances of advancing to the knockout stage are slim, Coach Egau Johnathan remains optimistic, viewing this tournament as a valuable learning experience for his team.

This is a learning ground for us to prepare these girls for future games,” Coach Egau said. “We will approach the game against France as a big game and aim to end on a high note.”
