Statistics: How Uganda Won The FEASSA Games Overall Title

The historical 21st edition of the FEASSA Games came to an end on Monday 26th August in Uganda.

The colourful closing ceremony was held at Bukedea Comprehensive School Sports Complex graced by the State Minister of Sports Honourable Peter Ogwang as the chief guest representing Maama Janet Kataha Museveni.

ISF President Laurent Petrynka was the special guest at this year’s edition. Among others was Commissioner Physical Education and Sports Rev. Can. Duncans Mugumya National Council of Sports General Secretary David Katende, FEASSA President Justus Mugisha, his executive and leaders of delegations from different countries.

This year’s edition was a very special one The athletes played on first class facilities in schools, that were built to host the 21st edition of the FEASSA Games. Uganda has set the bar very high in as far as hosting these games, therefore Kenya (22nd edition hosts) have a huge task to push it even higher

In his speech, the ISF President Laurent Petrynka applauded the Government of Uganda, and Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association for developing schools sports.

I would like to thank the President H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni and Minister of State for Sports Honourable Peter Ogwang for developing school’s sports in the country. Uganda is one of our active of ISF, we are proud of the developments they have done. It is good to be competing at the international level but the regional competitions are crucial and good to have because they prepare athletes from the grassroot.

The Chief Guest Honourable Peter Ogwang appreciated the ISF President for gracing the games, the hosts schools and also promised to improve the sports facilities in the country.

I would like to thank the ISF President Laurent Petrynka for gracing this year’s FEASSA Games, your coming signifies the love for sports development.

My sincere appreciation goes to the host schools, BCS and Amus College for successfully hosting the games. As Government, we shall continue advocating for improved sports infrastructure to enhance capacity building, talent identification and development.

STATISTICS: How Uganda Won The FEASSA Games 2024

The games attracted five countries including Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi And Kenya.

Uganda won it’s fourth consecutive overall title having won it in 2019, 2022 and recently in 2023 in Huye Rwanda.

Kenya – 11 Gold , 11 Silver , 6 Bronze (28)
Tanzania – 3 Bronze (3)
Rwanda – 1 Gold 1 Silver, 3 Bronze (5)
Burundi – 1 Gold, 2 Bronze(3)

Primary Schools Medals
Kenya 5 Medals
Tanzania 7 medals
Uganda 9 medals

The 22nd edition will be held in Kakamega City, Kenya in 2025.
