A total of 32 goals were scored on match day one as the second edition of the Beach soccer gala under the USSSA Ball Games II Unfolded in Soroti.

Defending Champions Standard High School Zzana recovered from two goals down to beat St Lawrence Schools Paris Palais 5-3.

Nuwagaba Christian Ssendi Julius had a brace each while Lutete Moses scored the other goal. Kawuma Mathew and Odako Ashraf scored for St Lawrence.

In other games, London College beat Crown City 6-3 to top group B.

In the girls category Immaculate Heart walloped London College 6-0 to top group A while Standard High School Zzana beat Academy Of St Lawrence 8-1 to go top of group B.

STAHIZA’s Brenda Abiko and Immaculate Heart’s Clare Natuhwera are the current top scorers in the girls category with five goals each.

Ssendi Julius, Nuwagaba Christian, Mete Obuto Monar and Hillary Mucho are tied on 2 goals in the race for the boys’ golden boot.

This year’s championship has attracted 8 boys teams and 6 girl’s sides compared to 2023 which had 4 teams per gender.

Tuesday Fixture

In the Girls’ category, Mukono Kings will kick off it’s title defense journey with a test against Standard High School Zzana.
