ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024: Game day one- as it happened

Overview

Uganda’s campaign at the 11th edition of the ISF Gymnasiade officially got underway in Manama city of Bahrain. Badminton, table tennis and athletics teams were all in action at Isa Sports City and Bahrain International Stadium.

Uganda’s performance on match day one was more of a learning experience as mixed results prevailed.

In badminton, Uganda lost the opening two rounds to Ukraine and Chinese Taipei. The third round was a chance of redemption as Uganda beat hosts Bahrain 75-25.

Matchday 2 promises to be an even tastier one as the young boys and girls continue to master their craft in the Pearl of Arabia.

Athletics

Brendah Chepkwemoi painted smiles over Ugandans’ faces at Bahrain International Stadium as she advanced to the semi finals in the 800M race. Chepkwemoi came out first in her heat in what was a very dominant performance on the afternoon.

Player Education and Dual career session.

Uganda badminton team which is a cocktail of teams from Kibuli SS, Rubaga Girls’ School and Mbogo Schools took part in the session alongside teams from Ukraine conducted by the Badminton World Federation at Isa Sports.

Game day 2

Uganda boys and girls basketball 3X3 teams (Seroma Christian High School) will be in action at Isa sports city alongside Player Education career sessions at Isa Sports City.

In swimming, Mamisa Ryan Matthew and Lugonjo Kyle Eldrick of Seroma will compete in 100M Breast stroke against counterparts from PR China (2) and ISSO India in heat 1.

    Thanks for the updates. Is it possible to get a detailed results for Athletics? Yesterday we had three Athletes in action we need to know the detailed results especially the times they Ran. Even the winning time of Brenda in 800m
