To strengthen the visibility and impact of school sports across Uganda, the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) will distribute annual calendars (2025) and activity report booklets to all secondary schools in the country. This initiative, spearheaded by USSSA President Justus Mugisha, seeks to ensure that every corner of Uganda feels the transformative power of school sports.
The distribution exercise will involve sending the packages to district chairpersons, who will then disseminate them to all secondary schools registered under the USSSA. By leveraging this distribution network, USSSA aims to streamline communication, provide timely updates on events, and reinforce the critical role school sports play in talent development and national organization.
Enhancing Awareness and Engagement
The calendars will outline key sports events and competitions, giving schools and students ample time to prepare and participate. Additionally, the activity report booklets will offer insights into the progress made over the past year, highlighting achievements, challenges, and plans for future development. This leads to informing stakeholders also inspiring schools to actively engage in sports programs.
USSSA President Justus Mugisha emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting that “School sports are a foundation for nurturing talent and instilling discipline. By sharing our activities and plans widely, we ensure that no school is left behind in the drive to develop the next generation of sports leaders.”

This exercise serves as a reminder to schools about the importance of registering and affiliating with USSSA, thereby opening doors to more competitions and capacity-building programs. Through this effort, USSSA anticipates increased participation in regional and national tournaments, enhancing the overall quality of school sports in Uganda.
A Call to Stakeholders
The success of this initiative relies heavily on the collaboration between USSSA, district chairpersons, school administrators, and sports coordinators. USSSA calls upon all stakeholders to actively participate in this distribution exercise, ensuring that the calendars and reports reach their intended recipients without delay.
