After five days of intense training, networking, and growth, the USSSA Capacity Building program has come to a close today. The initiative, designed to enhance the skills and expertise of coaches and referees, has been hailed as a resounding success.
The program, which kicked off on January 12th, brought together a diverse group of 86 participants, comprising 55 referees and 31 coaches from across the West Nile Zone. The event was held at Mvara SS in Arua City.
The training sessions were led by a team of experienced instructors who shared their expertise and provided valuable insights to the participants. The program also included interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises that allowed participants to put their newfound knowledge into practice.
One of the key highlights of the program was the opportunity for participants to network and build relationships with their peers. The program provided a platform for coaches and referees to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from each other.

The closing ceremony, which took place today, was attended by dignitaries, officials, and participants. Mr. Candia Ronald, the Senior Sports Officer of Arua Central Division, was the Guest of Honor at the ceremony. In his keynote address, he praised the participants for their dedication and hard work. He also emphasized the importance of capacity building in sports development and encouraged the participants to continue learning and growing.
The participants were awarded certificates of completion at the closing ceremony, marking the end of the program. Additionally, they will also receive certificates of merit from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in recognition of their hard work and commitment to excellence.
The USSSA Capacity Building program has set a new standard for sports development in the West Nile Zone. The program’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration, dedication, and a shared passion for sports. As the participants return to their respective communities, they will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the sports landscape, inspiring a new generation of athletes, coaches, and referees.
