Wakiso Zone Basketball Qualifiers got off the mark on 20th March 2025 at Elite High School and neighbors Bethel High School.
Three classic basketball courts, two at Elite High School and one at Bethel School hosted over 20 boys and girls teams for two days.
19 girls teams were grouped into four groups, three of five and one of four with each team playing 4 and 3 games respectively.
The group stages were played on both 20th and 21st with 8 teams booking slots for quarter finals.
Hosts Elite High School, reigning zonal champions St Noa and national champions St Marys Kitende are among the notable schools and with their diverse experience and talent they are expected to put up a strong challenge though none of the other five can be underrated.
With Wakiso Zone having enough slots at nationals, this means all the quarter finalists have qualified for the May slated championship to be hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School.

- Zzana Mixed Vs Gayaza High School
- Buddo SS Vs Exodus College
- St Marys Kitende Vs Elite High School
To qualify for quarter finals, St Noa Girls topped group A with Gayaza High School coming in second place. Zzana Mixed SS topped group B while Kisubi Mapeera qualifed as first runners up.
Buddo SS together with hosts Elite High Schoool came out as group C superiors while St Marys Kitende and Exodus College topped group D as number 1 and 2 respectively.
The dates for the quarter finals and semi finals are yet to be communicated. Wakiso Zonal Ball Games 1 Qualifiers finals will be played on 12th April 2025 at WAKISSHA Resource Center and its when the basketball finals will also be played.
