Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) won by 4-1 after penalty shootouts against Jinja SS to lift the district trophy.
The final between the two sides was held on Friday, 28th March 2025 at Bugembe Stadium.
In a final that was played at Bugembe stadium in Jinja, the two sides played to a 0-all draw during the normal time.
Jinja SS games teacher Samuel Mugabi expressed the game as a disappointing one,, more so losing two finals on the same day, and promised to bounce back stronger.
- “I’m very disappointed because we aren’t used to losing. We are going back to the drawing board and we shall bounce back stronger than before”. He said.
This is one of the school sports debry that attracts a crowd in Uganda. This was a repeat of the Jinja district final in 2023 that again JIPRA won on penalties 4:2 at Kakindu Stadium with a wash of teargas at the end.
Both JIPRA and Jinja S.S. will represent Jinja district at the forthcoming Eastern region zonal championships, due in Budodo district.
