Luwero Zone Basketball Qualifiers 2025: Ndejje SS claims double gold

By Tibo Onesimus Joel

The Luwero Zone Basketball Qualifiers concluded on April 4, 2025, featuring schools like Bugema SS, LEGACY, Katikamu SDA, New Hope Academy, Kakoola HS, Sakku SS, Janan SS, and Ndejje SSS in both boys’ and girls’ 5×5 basketball categories.

The boys’ final was a highly anticipated rematch between last year’s National Ball Games I hosts, Janan SS and Ndejje SSS. After losing to Janan SS in the previous two qualifiers, Ndejje SSS put on an impressive performance, defeating Janan SS 43-23 to win gold.

In the Girls’ final, Ndejje SSS triumphed over LEGACY with a 21-11 victory, securing another gold medal for Ndejje SSS, making them double gold medalists in both categories.

All finalists qualified for the National Ball Games, set for May 2025 at Bukedea Comprehensive School, where the competition is expected to intensify. A key highlight of the qualifiers was the participation of bona fide students, thanks to USSSA’s efforts to ensure fair play and authenticity in the tournament. These games were hosted by Janan SS.
