Many schools across West Nile zone have converged in Maracha district for the zonal ball game one which are hosted by Maracha secondary school and Maracha Domestic science Institute. The event has gathered 30 boys’ teams and 29 girls’ teams
The activity began on the 9th April,2025 with the arrival of schools and verification and it is expected to run up to the 16th
The matches are to run in eight different playgrounds of which four are for girls and the remaining four are for boys.

Some of the strongest teams in the region are laying strategies to maintain their superiority.
Kochi secondary school which is a top football rivalry in West Nile Zone from koboko District is one of the school that now looks forward to maintaining their school football history.
The school competed in district tournaments 2024(last year) and came in the third position after beating Nyangilia ss 1-0 for loosers trophy earning them opportunity to qualify for regional ball games hosted by St Charles Lwanga Koboko.
Kochi secondary school dominated through out their matches not until they lost to the defending champions Mvara SS in semi- finals.
In th same year 2024,they continued up to nationals where they stopped in group stages.
This time they clashed with St Charles Lwanga SS for finals during district tournaments where they lost 2-1 earning them opportunity to qualify for regional ball games.
They concluded their group stage match by 1-0 win against Yangani SS that equally made them to qualify for the round of sixteen.
They are very eager and confident enough to lift the regional trophy to Koboko and represent West Nile region once again at the national level. The top three boys’ and top two girls’ teams will represent Westnile in Ngora and Bukedea respectively at the national championships
