Ball Games II preparatory meeting held.

The sports disciplines at Ball Games II include the following CAF Football U14,Football U16,Basketball U16,Basketball 3×3,DanceSport,Woodball,Beach Soccer,Beach Volleyball,Lacrosse,mindgames (Chess,Ludo and scrabble),volleyball,netball,handball,rugby 7s,futsal,atheltics and cross country.

Futsal is making its first appearance while mind games(Chess,Ludo and Scrabble are returning for the second time.

Gymnastics, softball, and baseball will have demonstrations during the champion

“CAF is using the Moroccan coaching model to drive futsal on the continent. As Uganda we are going to have our coaches trained for level I and II. Therefore if a school has a teacher interested in coaching, I will request them to come and get training conducted by Morocco and after two years we shall have coaches in our schools who have these qualifications.”Jjunju Hamza, Futsal Association of Uganda,President.

“As a Federation, we are ready to provide technical support and assistance to educate members in all zones about the Sport.The dress codes and the surfaces we use are also different.” Barnabas Ssebuyungo,General Secretary ,Uganda DanceSport Federation.

Below are the confirmed dates of zonal qualifiers for zones that submitted.
Mpigi -26th -28th June at Bulo Parents and Butawuka
Rwenzori-1st to 4th July at Kamwenge Vocational SS
Busoga-19th-21st June at Nkuutu Mmemorial School and St. Lawrence Idudi
Masaka – 27th to 29th in Kalungu district
Bunyoro-19th -22nd June in Homia City
Amkole -25th to 29th June at Rubare SS
Teso – 27th to 30th June at Kaberamaido SS
Acholi -27th -29th June in Gulu City

“We are making it mandatory that Zonal Qualifiers take a minimum of 4 days.According to the circular, we stated that athletes can only play a maximum of 2 games daily except for disciplines like netball.” Justus Mugisha ,USSSA President.

“We have discovered there are some districts which allow unregistered students to participate in our games. We have, therefore, made a decision to sanction all executive members of those districts who allow schools to participate unregistered.” – Justus Mugisha, President USSSA.

Athletics format for secondary school national Ball games II:
1.The competition will be held in Tororo. Selected students will represent their respective schools,districts and zones.
2.Scoring systems:-
a.Individual Disciplines (Athletes competting in individual discplines will score points for their schools,districts and zones.
b.Relays will only contribute points to the district and zone as they involve athletes from multiple schools.
3.Zonal teams
a.The zone will collect all points earned by athletes coming from the district that constitue that zone .
b. The points will be earned from individual competition and not collective/relays.
4.Trophies
-Best Girls’ School
-Best boys’ school
-Best district girls
-Best district boys
-Best zone girls.
-Best zone boys
-Cross country Boys
-Cross country girls
-Overall Zonal Champion.
NB:The selction of the zonal relay team maybe done during competitons in the individual races
The only athletes that will compete for the school will be those that constitute the district team maximum district contigent will be 25 girls, 25 boys.
