Boys Futsal: Mukono Kings Shine as Kakungulu Memorial beats St Marks College
The first edition of Futsal in USSSA Ball Games II championship saw the Greater Mukono region champions, Mukono Kings High School start on a high note with a 4-1 victory over St Francis Busunju.
The goals by the Shafiq Mudholo coached side came from Afeku Patrick, Kato Antonio, Mukisa Daniel and Geno Mathius, the only strike for St Francis came from Talemwa Collins.
The first stanza ended in a one all draw but Kings bounced back stronger and finished the job in the second half with ease.
Shafiq Mudholo confessed that Futsal is a bit challenging game but gives players skills and quick thinking on the ball.
“The game is a bit skillful and speedy it needs you to make decision in a second.” He confessed. ” So it is a bit challenging compared to football, Here you don’t have time to rest like football every time the ball is on the pitch.”
Mudholo thanked USSSA for including futsal on the program.
“I thank USSSA for including futsal on the program and our target is to finish in the top two and I believe the boys are ready for that.” Said Shafiq Mudholo.
Kakungulu Memorial also started well with a 2-0 victory over St Marks College Namagoma, thanks to goals from Nsereko Frank.
