Young golfers attain key lessons after second round at 2025 ISF World School Golf championship

The inaugural edition of the ISF World School Golf Championship in Morocco has come forth with immense
benefits to the different youth from across the world taking part.
Played on one of the world’s best championship facilities at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course in Rabat city, this
tournament has presented the youngsters with a crucial platform to showcase their skills.
Action on Thursday, 17 th July 2025 marked the second day of the competition where the golfers have now
accumulated 36 holes of action.
Damian Assimwe and Racheal Laura Natukunda, the two Ugandans representing the East African country are enjoying every other moment.
St Julian High School Gayaza’s Asiimwe improved to 88 gross mark on day two from the opening round’s 99 gross
score.
The single handicap golfer (index 9) opened his round two with a birdie score on the par-5 hole 11.
Meanwhile, Natukunda, a student at Nyakasura School improved on the leaderboard position to 7 th from 8 th after
36 holes of action.
She has played her best score, 88 on the first 18 holes and 93 on the second holes.
Meanwhile, two Morocco U-18 golfers; Hicham Rachidi (male) and Sofia Cherif Essakali (female) are the best so
far in two rounds. Isaiah Mwesige who traveled as head coach for Uganda praises his players for the strong mentality.
“They (Asiimwe and Natukunda) have showed character, discipline, and willingness to keep fighting ”Mwesige
commends.
The players’ gallery has been boosted by the timely arrival of the FEASSA and USSSA president Justus Mugisha.
Mugisha joins USSSA executive committee member Richard Muhumuza in Morocco.
After two demanding rounds on Wednesday and Thursday, there has been a rest day accorded to the players on Friday, 18 th July 2025.
This day will be optimally utilized by the players and their coaches to prepare for the final two rounds coming up on
Saturday and Sunday.
There is a further opportunity to interact, mingle and interact with the cultural and nations’ night festivities on Friday evening.
Africa is represented by four countries; Uganda, Nigeria,Cameroon and the hosts Morocco.
