FEASSA 2025: Gombe SS Gives Uganda a Boost After Double Defeat in Openers.

The FEASSA Handball games have kicked off with fire as the Ugandan national Handball boys’ champions, Wampeewo Ntake SS, have been beaten by the Kenyan national champions, Kimili High School, with a score of 25-28. A Kenyan player, Masinde Fred, was issued a red card for a foul committed while defending against the tight moves of the Ugandan champions. This game drew the largest crowd of the day, with the Kenyan hosts eager to watch their champions take on the Ugandan champions.

In the Handball Girls’ category, Kibuli SS, the defending FEASSA champions and Ugandan champions for 2025, have lost their first game to St. Joseph Girls Kitale from Kenya with a score of 25-33. Kibuli SS player Nassolo Ankel was also issued a red card in the team’s efforts to maintain their defending champions’ legacy.

However, Team Uganda has had a reason to smile after Gombe SS secured an easy win, beating Maweri Secondary from Tanzania 46-19 and registering the highest win of the day.
