FEASSA 2025: UGANDAN TEAMS SHINE BRIGHT AMID MIXED BASKETBALL FORTUNES IN KAKAMEGA.

Day 5 of the FEASSA Games in Kakamega produced energetic basketball encounters across both the 5×5 and 3×3 categories with Ugandan schools showing mixed fortunes against strong opposition from Kenya and Tanzania.

In the Boys’ 5×5, Amus College School (ug) put up a spirited fight to edge Dr. Aggrey H/S (Ke) 61:55 in a tense clash securing a vital win for Uganda. However, Kibuli SS fell short against Kenya’s Lukenya SS losing 79:48.

On the Girls’ 5×5 side, Uganda’s St. Mary’s Kitende impressed with a commanding 64:43 victory over Olympic High (Kenya) strengthening their bid for the title.

The 3×3 format saw fast-paced action. In the Boys’ games, Amus College School outclassed Juhudi ( Tanzania ) 21:11 while Nyakasura School stumbled against Kenya’s St. Joseph’s, going down 18–8.

For the Girls’ 3×3, Kenya’s Tigoi overpowered St. Mary’s Kitende 15:6, but Uganda bounced back with Mvara HS cruising past Juhudi 14:2. Seroma Christian High School however, fell 15:7 to Buruburu .

Overall, Uganda registered key wins through Amus College, Kitende and Mvara HS but also faced tough defeats.
