Kakungulu Memorial hold advantage in boys’ hockey at the ongoing Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association Games in Kakamega after they beat Ntare School 3-0 to move to 13 points in five games.
Kenyan schools St. Anthony’s Kitale and St. Charles Lwanga drew 1-1 to and are both two points behind ahead of the penultimate round-robin matches.
Musingu High beat fellow Kenyan side Mpesa Academy 3-0 are level on nine points with Ugandan champions Mbarara High.Mbarara had Deliver Atuhaire to thank as his two goals guided them to a 2-1 win over Kyaddondo SS.
In the girls’ category, it is advantage St. Joseph’s Kitale following their 3-2 win over fellow Kenyan side Tigoi.
The two have two more Kenyan sides following them in Ngi’ya (nine points) and Mwiki SS.But the latter is level on seven points with Kakungulu’s girls. Mwiki, however, are ahead on a +3 goal advantage as the Ugandan champions have zero.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart SS Mushanga beat Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga 2-0 to get their first win and points of the competition.
