For school sports for better

Ugandan swimmers in fourth heaven.

Ugandan male and female swimmers accumulated 473.5 and 451 points respectively to beat hosts Kenya in the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (Feasssa) Games.

The event held at St. Peter’s Junior and Primary School Mumias gave Uganda their fourth straight titles in both categories and came with 27 gold, 16 silver, and nine bronze medals from 36 events.

Kenya finished second with 406.5 and 451 points from their boys and girls respectively, while Burundi’s boys had 127 and the girls 168 points.

Kenya also had four gold, 14 silver, and 16 bronze medals, while Burundi managed two gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.

More importantly, Uganda showed its regional dominance yet again. Despite constant changes to the squad and a restriction for every swimmer to do just two individual events, the performance did not deteriorate.

“I think we have proven again that we are the best team in East Africa,” team captain Charlotte Sanford, who has won two FEASSSA titles, said.
