The FEASSSA Games are inclined towards talent exposure – Rev. Canon Mugumya

The Commissioner of Physical Education and Sports in the Ministry of Education and sports Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya has commended the management of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA).

“I thank the management of Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) for organizing the different games within the schools from the various countries; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. These games have helped a lot in talent exposure” Rev. Mugumya revealed.

Rev. Mugumya made the remarks at the closure of the recently concluded 2022 FEASSSA Games hosted by the United Republic of Tanzania in Arusha city.

Team Uganda, with over 1000 students emerged as the overall winner at these games that have done a great deal in grooming talent from the grassroots.

The commissioner appreciated the executive of FEASSSA and Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) for the tranquil environment.

“I applaud USSSA and FEASSSA for the positive cooperation to have the games held. I also thank the Government of Uganda that has provided the funding, the Ministry of Education and Sports, different schools as well as the sportsmen and women. Team Uganda brought primary and secondary students. I observed Uganda’s sports has developed very fast” he added.

He also encouraged parents to freely allow their sons and daughters to engage in the different sports disciplines.

Team Uganda emerged as the overall champion at the 2022 FEASSSA Games with 18 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals.
