Kampala, Uganda – In a collaborative effort between the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) and the Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU), important updates have been made regarding the USSSA Online Registration and the release of the Zonal Qualifiers Calendar for the upcoming 2023 Sporting Calendar.
Following a successful meeting between USSSA and ASSHU, several decisions were made to enhance the registration process and provide schools with a clear timeline for the zonal qualifiers. These decisions aim to ensure widespread participation and fair competition across all levels.
Firstly, the USSSA Online Registration period has been extended to accommodate schools’ needs. Initially scheduled to close on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:59 pm, schools now have until Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:59 pm to complete their registration. This extension offers schools additional time to finalize their registration process and guarantees their eligibility for participation.
In a stern directive, USSSA emphasizes that no school team will be allowed to take part in any level of sporting events without completing the USSSA Online Registration. This requirement ensures that all participating schools are officially registered, creating a level playing field for competition.
Furthermore, the eagerly awaited Zonal Qualifiers Calendar has been unveiled, marking a significant milestone in the preparation for the sporting events. The calendar provides participating schools with a comprehensive schedule of events and important dates leading up to the culmination of the zonal qualifiers on Sunday, July 2, 2023. It is essential for schools to review the calendar diligently and make the necessary arrangements to compete in their respective zones.
Mugisha Christopher Banage, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of USSSA, expressed his well wishes to all participating schools as they embark on the Sporting Calendar 2023. He emphasized the importance of these sporting events as a platform for students to showcase their talents, foster camaraderie, and promote healthy competition.
