Kakungulu Memorial School, a renowned powerhouse in Uganda’s Secondary Schools handball, has once again emerged victorious in the boys’ category at the USSSA Elite Championship. Their hard-fought win against Wampeewo Ntake SS in the final game secured their second consecutive handball accolade.
Meanwhile, Gombe SS’s girls’ handball team has etched their name in history by clinching their first-ever handball championship at the USSSA Elite Games. Displaying exceptional skill and determination, they emerged triumphant in all their tournament matches.

The elation and joy among the Gombe SS team members are palpable. “We are thrilled and overjoyed by this championship victory. We are growing stronger and setting our sights on the FEASSA tournament, where we are confident of securing another triumph,” expressed Tibakalamu Grace, a student at Gombe SS.

The Elite championship featured five sports disciplines, namely football, netball, basketball, handball, and volleyball, with various schools vying for glory.
Jinja Senior Secondary School served as the host for this year’s edition, providing a fitting venue for the intense sporting battles that unfolded.
