The zonal qualification matches kick started in Kyenjojo on 2nd April in Kyenjojo district. The schools are competing in both girls and boys football.
These schools qualified from districts of Kasese, Kyenjojo, Fort portal City, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda among others which make up the Rwenzori Zone.
The teams are grouped into four groups in the boys and girls category and the top two qualify for the next round as a result.
The boys matches are being played at three venues that is Katooke, Modern and Kuwiga whereas for the girls are at four grounds namely; Town Council, Iboroga, Mukore and Trinity.

These schools are vying for the coveted three National slots allocated to the Rwenzori region for either category at the Fresh Dairy Secondary School Games and National Football Boys Championship 2024.
Karugutu Secondary School edged Kakabara SS 1-0 in the opener for the boys category while Katooke Modern Secondary whipped Kanara SS 7-0. Westville Secondary School made light work of Kamwenge as they put a half dozen of goals past them.
