Kampala Zone qualifiers reached a very tasty stage in the quest to crown the 2024 boys football power house. Group stages came to a close yesterday 10th April where Kawempe Muslim School and Kibuli Secondary School came out on top.
Kawempe Muslim was exceptional topping group B unbeaten. Kawempe won all their four group games whilst scoring twelve and conceding only two goals in the process.
In their final group match, Kawempe put four past Lakeside SS Luzira in a game played at Old Kampala SS grounds credit to strikes by Nyanzi Reagan, Gatluak Buom, Ali Nasser and Kayizi Reagan. Second placed was Kakungulu Memorial School which has also been a joy to watch in the group stages.
Defending champions Kibuli SS also booked a slot in the semi finals as they came out top of group A with 8 points two better than Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga. Uganda Martyrs H/S Lubaga will hope to go one better than last year as they lost to Kibuli SS 2-0 at the Kampala Zone finals.
Therefore Uganda Martyrs High School-Lubaga, Kibuli SS, Kawempe Muslim School and Kakungulu Memorial School will represent Kampala Zone at the National stage hosted by Masaka Secondary School.
Friday 11th will be the showpiece day as Kawempe Muslim will go toe to toe with Uganda Martyrs H/S Lubaga in the first semi final fixture whereas Kibuli SS will lock horns with Kakungulu Memorial School.
