A: St Mathias Kalemba SS, Mpoma Royal College, Quality High School, Central College
B: Mehta S.S, Vision For Africa, St Mark High School, Dynamic SS Sonde
C: Mukono Kings High School, Namagabi Secondary School, Lugazi Homeland SS, Mukono High School
D: St Julian High School, Rehoboth Integrated, Mt Camel SS, St John’s Kauga
Venues: Buikwe Playground (Group A); Nyenga Playground (Group B), St Andrew’s Playground (Group C), Allied Teacher’s Stadium (Group D)
The battle for the three treasured slots rages on in Buikwe district this week as the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football zonal championships take center stage. Sixteen schools from the districts of Buikwe (hosts), Mukono and Kayunga will officially kick off on Saturday, 13th April.
Different playgrounds in Buikwe district are ready to host the schools and these are Buikwe Playground, Nyenga Playground, St Andrew’s Playground and Allied Teacher’s Stadium.
Group pools:
Kayunga district champions St Mathias Kalemba SS, Mpoma Royal College, Quality High School and Central College.
Isaac Kitakuule, head coach of St. Mathias Kalemba SS stated in an interview,
“We shall give our best in all the matches that we have. The target is to return to the nationals.”
Mehta S.S, Vision For Africa, St Mark High School and Dynamic SS Sonde are pooled in group B.
In group C; there is Mukono Kings High School, Namagabi Secondary School, Lugazi Homeland SS and Mukono High.
St Julian High School, Rehoboth Integrated, Mt Camel SS and St John’s Kauga are in group D.
Michael Kabali, a coach at St Julian High School noted,
”We shall handle every game with caution. We need to minimize the mistakes and perfect what we do best.”
The tournament will climax on Sunday, 14th April 2024.
