USSSA Greater Mukono 2024 football qualifiers conclude, successful schools determined

USSSA Greater Mukono 2024 Football Qualifiers (Boys):

Final: St Julian Mukono 1-0 Quality High School, Buikwe

Third-Place: Mukono Kings 2-1 Vision For Africa

The 2024 USSSA Greater Mukono 2024 Football qualifiers successfully concluded in Nyenga, Buikwe district on Sunday, 14th April.

St Julian SS Mukono won the tournament that lured as many as 15 schools from the districts of Mukono, Buikwe and Kayunga.

The victors overcame Buikwe’s Quality High School 1-0 courtesy of Jahid Mwondha in the final played at Allied Teacher’s SS playground.

The third place was secured by Mukono Kings Secondary School, after winning 2-1 over Vision For Africa Secondary School.

In the semi-finals, St Julian overcame Mukono Kings 1-0 having also defeated Mehta SS by the same margin in the quarter finals.

“We prepared well for this championship. I salute the players and school management, my fellow coaches for the job well done” Felix Kawooya Ssekabuuza, head coach of St Julian Mukono stated.

The winners got gold medals and trophy with Quality High School taking silver Medals and Mukono Kings for bronze.

The three top schools; St Julian, Quality High School and Mukono Kings will represent Greater Mukono region at the nationals in Masaka.

St Julian Mukono 1-0 Mukono Kings

Quality SS 0 (6) – 0 (5) Vision For Africa

Quarter-finals:

Quality High School Buikwe 0 (6) – 0 (7) Namagabi (*Namagabi SS was disallowed for using a player above 20 years)

Vision For Africa 1-0 St John’s SS Kauga

Mukono Kings 3-0 St Mathias Kalemba SS
