This is yet another match day of diligence on the basketball courts during the ongoing Fresh Dairy Secondary School Games for either gender.

As the girls tussle out on the basketball courts at Ndejje SS, the boys are also fully in action at the Janan School (Bombo campus) courts.

On Friday, 3rd May 2024, it will be the quarter finals for either cluster of gender after the round of 16 stage on the previous day.

Action during the round of 16 witnessed mouth-watering action with fancy dribbles, accurate throws to the ring (three shots, simple lay ups and free shots), take-ons, majestic body checks and eye-catching dunks from mainly the boys’ section.

The results varied from close contests to one-sided duels as the last eight schools for the quarter finals were determined for both boys and girls.

St Mary’s Kitende humbled Nyakasura School 67-13, St Noa Girls won with comfort, 45-05 over Immaculate High and Buddo SS made it 45-21 past the hosts Ndejje SS.

It was a neck-to-neck finish when Mbogo Mixed edged Janan School by a basket; 30-28.

In other results, Seroma Christian High School overcame Seeta High School Mbalala 37-30, Jinja SS fell 24-36 to Naalya SS Lugazi and Kibuli SS eliminated Tororo Girls 34-25.

Meanwhile, Nabisunsa Girls School won with comfort 27-18 over Mvara SS during the other contest.

For some of the boys’ action at Janan SS, defending champions Buddo SS won 42-30 over Bethel Convenant College.

New kids on the block Amus College edged seasoned St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde 37-33 in nail-biting fashion.

The quarter finals and semi-finals come on Friday, alongside other classification duels ahead of grand climax on Saturday.
