Team Uganda’s campaign at the ANOCA School Games 2025 in Algeria continues tonight as the U-17 football side, represented by Buddo Secondary School, takes on Tunisia in a highly anticipated Group B opener.
The match will be played at Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine at 7:00 PM Algeria time (9:00 PM EAT).
Uganda is pooled in Group B alongside North African giants Tunisia and the West African powerhouse Ivory Coast. After tonight’s opener, Uganda will return to action on 31st July against Ivory Coast at the same venue.
Led by head coach Richard Malinga and captained by Barasa Dickson, the Ugandan side is brimming with confidence ahead of their first fixture. Speaking ahead of the clash, Coach Malinga emphasized his team’s readiness and ambition:
“We are here to compete and win. The boys have prepared well, and we are focused on starting strong. Every game is a final for us, and that mindset begins with Tunisia tonight.”
Skipper Barasa Dickson echoed his coach’s sentiments, expressing full belief in the team’s capabilities:
“We have every aspect required to win today’s game. The fitness levels are where they need to be, and the team’s mentality is solid. We’re focused, hungry, and ready to make Uganda proud.”
All eyes will be on Stade Hamlaoui tonight as Uganda kicks the first ball in Group B campaign.
