A record number of 22 schools took part in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Swimming Championships at Seroma Christian High School on Saturday.

The fourth edition of the USSSA National Swimming championship took place on 8th August 2025 at Seroma Christian High School in Mukono.

Baseball and softball coach and administration Timothy Einu believes they can tap into the Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) numbers and platform to grow.

They had seven teams – three for girls (The Allen VR Stanley, Muni Girls, and Panyadoli Self Help) and four for boys (AVRS, St. Peter’s Nsambya, Mehta, and Kakira) – demonstrating the sport at the USSSA National Ball Games II in Tororo. But St. Catherine Lira, Jinja SS, and Nsambya Police are some of the other schools involved.

There are over 40 schools that will take part in the game across 16 disciplines. Lacrosse, beach volleyball, beach soccer, beach volleyball, chess and scrabble will be making an appearance at the games for the very first time.

The games will be held in Kenya’s western county of Kakamega from 12th to 23rd August 2025.

Football, volleyball, netball, handball, hockey, athletics, badminton, tennis, table tennis, swimming, basketball (3×3 and 5×5), rugby 7’s, rugby 15’s while chess and scrabble will take place for the very first time.

Beach football, beach volleyball, lacrosse, cricket are the disciplines that will be on demonstration.
