Buddo Secondary School Girls Basketball team (3×3) won the Africa schools’ basketball championship in Casablanca,Morocco.Uganda’s representatives overcame hosts Morocco 33-29 on aggregate over the two legs.In the first leg, Buddo S.S won 21-16 and narrowly succumbed
12-13 in the final game.

The team of four had several players; Elizabeth Nakabugo,Angella Auma , Christine Namyalo, and Happy Daisy Atukunda, coached by John Jevish Omondi who was assisted by Marion Atwegyeise.
The boys’ team fell short to two host schools from Morocco; 21-08 and 21-04 before further losing to Niger and Gabon opposition.
Morocco won the boys’ cluster as Kenya earned silver in Volleyball boys and a gold for the girls . Uganda’s delegation that was led by the Commissioner of Physical Education.




Team captain Namyalo attributed the victory to good preparations and teamwork ethic.
“We trained well prior to the tournament in Morocco. Special thanks to the players and our coaches, the school administration, USSSA, the government who made it possible for us. We played as a unit and this teamwork propelled us” Namyalo told reporters upon return home at Entebbe International Airport.



USSSA Chief Executive Officer Christopher Mugisha Banage hailed the victors for the brave performance on the continent, highlighting the value of great preparations by Buddo S.S,
USSSA, Ministry of Education and Sports and the National Council of Sports.

In related news,USSSA Head Justus Mugisha was voted as the President of the East zone and Christopher Mugisha Banage was elected among the assessors during Federation of Africa School Sports (FASS) General Assembly.
