2025 USSSA National Boys Football Championship
Full Time: Buddo SS 0 (6) – 0 (5) St Mary’s Kitende
Buddo Secondary School has this evening won the 2025 USSSA National Boys football championship in Ngora district.
This followed a highly intensified 6-5 post match penalty victory after normal time had ended goal-less at the Ngora High School playground on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 before a full capacity.
Buddo SS was a better side in the first half with a dominant display and serious chances created but Kitende’s defense led by their captain Simon Mukisa stood tall to deny them.
An end to end game it was in the second half. Abasa Kisambira had a shot blocked for Buddo. On the other hand, Farouk Tumwesigye, an extremely skilled left footer beat the opponent with a side dummy but blast the ball over the bar.
As the game approached the 80th minute, Richard Malinga brougt in the day’s Messiah Owen Walugembe replacing Edrisa Waibi between the posts. The game ended 0-0 in normal time and penalties had to decide the winner.
All the first five penalties for either side were successfully scored before Kitende missed the sixth and Buddo SS won.
How the penalty shoot-out went:
Denis Kisiriko scored the first for St Mary’s Kitende and Martin Bate equalized for Buddo SS
Simon Mukisa put Kitende 2-1 with Aron Okello equalizing.
Ronald Kigoye scored Kitende’s third kick and Shakur Babi equalized.
Ashraf Kyakuwa scored Kitende’s fourth kick and Roy Olala equalized.
Leonard Kasanya put Kitende 5-4 and Abasa Kisambira scored a bullet shot for Buddo’s fifth kick.
Santos Agok missed his kick when goalkeeper Edirisa Waibi dived to his left to push out the ball.
Ronald Ssegirinya netting the winner to ignite wild celebrations.
This is the third title for Buddo SS after triumphs in 2009 and 2018.
