CAF Africa Schools Football Championship: St Noa Settles For Silver As Kitende Finishes Fourth

The CAF Africa Schools Football Championship finally came to an end on Saturday, 26th April, with an official closing and awarding ceremony held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra City.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Mahama, was the day’s chief guest. CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku, CAF Executive Members, CECAFA President Wallace Karia and FUFA President Honorable Moses Hassim Magogo were also in attendance.

Uganda boys football team, St Marys Kitende lost to host Ghana in the third place play off to finish fourth.

Kitende took a halftime lead, through Henry Muhozi, but couldn’t hold onto it as Ghana came from behind to win the game 2-1.

The girls’ team, St Noa Girls, also lost to Ghana in the girls final 2-0.

Before the final, St Noa had not yet conceded any goal and had an 100% winning record having won all their matches group stage matches and their semi final tie against Morocco.

Having finished second, St Noa Girls will receive sports infrastructure worth $200,000 as prize money in addition to what they received at the zonal qualifiers.

The teams will return from Accra, Ghana today evening at 5:55PM.
