CAF U17 GIFT: Boni Consili Girls’ Learn Opponent

With a few days to the inaugural CAF Girls Integrated Football Tournament kickoff, Uganda’s representative Boni Consilii alongside other teams was subjected to the official tournament draws.

The Draw

The draws determined the matchups and groups for the participating teams. They were conducted live on CAF TV on Saturday by two prominent figures in women’s football: Majid Nantanda, a football instructor from Uganda, and Teresa Ouko Calleb, a football administrator from Kenya ensuring a fair and transparent process.

The Teams

The tournament will feature Boni Consili Girls’ Vocational SS has been placed in Group B alongside TDS Girls Academy (Tanzania), Hilda FC (Somalia), and Angle Noir FC (Burundi). In Group A, we have JKT Queens (Tanzania), Bahir Dar Kenema FC (Ethiopia), KAS Academy (Kenya), and City Light (South Sudan). These teams have been preparing rigorously, and the draw gives them a clear path to the championship.

Dates

The tournament is scheduled from 7th to 18th January 2025 at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the finalists earning a spot in the final tournament.

Boni Consilii is set to depart for Tanzania on Sunday, 5th January 2025, aboard Kenya Airways. We are excited about this opportunity to showcase our talent and represent our school internationally.

The GIFT tournament is more than just a competition; it is a platform for young female footballers to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience. It is an opportunity for these athletes to be scouted by top clubs and national teams, potentially paving the way for their professional careers.
