Capacity Building kicks off officially in Gulu.

At Sacred Heart SS Gulu the USSSA Capacity Building program will be hosted from 19th to 24th January. A total of 64 participants will be taken through Football Coaching- CAF D and Football Refereeing Level 2.

The program attracted 64 participants who will be advancing and broadening their knowledge in the game of football.

The program, which runs from January 19th to 24th, 2025, offers two courses: Football Coaching CAF D and Football Refereeing Level 2.

Of the 64, 34 participants were enrolled in the Football Coaching CAF D course, while 30 participants were enrolled in the Football Refereeing Level 2 course.

Okot P’Bitek the USSSA 2nd Vice president officially opened the five day training where he emphasized the importance of Capacity Building in the development of football in Uganda.

“We are committed to developing the skills and knowledge of our coaches and referees. This program is a key part of our efforts to raise the standards of football in our country.”

The Football Coaching CAF D course will cover topics such as tactics, team management, and player development, while the Football Refereeing Level 2 course will focus on the laws of the game, refereeing techniques, and match management.

Throughout the week, the participants will engage in theory and practical sessions, including training sessions and mock matches. They will also have the opportunity to interact with experienced coaches and referees, who will share their insights and expertise.

As the program comes to a close on January 24th, the participants will be awarded certificates upon completing their respective courses.

This will be a proud moment for the participants, who will have gained new skills and knowledge to take back to their communities.

The January USSSA Capacity Building Program is a significant step towards developing the capacity of coaches and referees in Uganda. With its focus on practical training and mentorship, the program is set to produce a new generation of skilled and knowledgeable football coaches and referees.
