Huye City, Rwanda – August 22, 2023 – The 20th edition of the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games is in full swing, and the volleyball action on Day 4 did not disappoint. Teams from across East Africa gathered in Huye City to compete in intense matchups, showcasing their athletic prowess and determination.
The volleyball courts were ablaze with energy as both boys’ and girls’ teams clashed in thrilling matches that had the spectators on the edge of their seats.
Boys’ Volleyball Matches:
In the boys’ division, four highly anticipated matches took place, each featuring teams determined to secure their place in the tournament’s hierarchy.
- Stahiza vs Kaliua – 11:00am: The day kicked off with Stahiza facing off against Kaliua. Both teams demonstrated their skills, but it was Stahiza who emerged victorious, leaving a lasting impression on the crowd.
- Namwela vs Andersen – 11:00am: Simultaneously, Namwela and Andersen battled it out in a fierce contest. The teams showcased remarkable teamwork, but Namwela managed to secure a hard-fought victory.
- St Joseph’s vs Namugongo – 3:00pm: The afternoon saw St Joseph’s and Namugongo taking the court. A heated match ensued, with St Joseph’s displaying exceptional strategy and coordination, ultimately clinching the win.
- Ruthimitu vs Bukedea – 3:00pm: Ruthimitu faced Bukedea in the final boys’ match of the day. The competition was fierce, with both teams refusing to back down. In the end, Ruthimitu triumphed, ending the day’s boys’ matches on a high note.
Girls’ Volleyball Matches:
The girls’ division delivered its fair share of excitement with four captivating matchups as well.
- IPRC vs Nasuli – 9:00am: The day began with IPRC locking horns with Nasuli. The teams showcased their skills, but it was IPRC who stood strong and emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle.
- Kesogon vs Ngora – 9:00am: Kesogon and Ngora faced each other with determination and drive. Kesogon’s coordinated plays and well-executed strategy earned them a well-deserved victory.
- St Aloys vs Soweto – 1:00pm: In the afternoon, St Aloys clashed with Soweto in a match that had the audience captivated. St Aloys displayed exceptional teamwork, ultimately claiming victory.
- St Elizabeth vs Kwanthanze – 1:00pm: The final girls’ match of the day featured St Elizabeth and Kwanthanze. The teams battled fiercely, but it was St Elizabeth who emerged triumphant after a closely contested match.
