FEASSA 2025 preparations underway as roadmap is drawn.

The first preparatory meeting for the 22nd Edition of Federation of East Africa Schools Association (FEASSA) has been held this morning on 17th June at the USSSA offices.

The 22nd edition of FEASSA games 2025 will take place in the Kenyan County of Kakamega from 12th – 23rd August.

Sports disciplines: Soccer (Girls & Boys), Volleyball (Girls & Boys), Netball (Girls), Handball (Girls & Boys), Hockey (Girls & Boys), Athletics (Girls & Boys), Badminton (Girls & Boys), Lawn Tennis (Girls & Boys), Table Tennis (Girls & Boys), Swimming (Girls & Boys), Basketball 3×3 (Girls & Boys), Basketball 5×5 (Girls & Boys), Rugby 7’s (Girls & Boys), and Rugby 15’s (Boys), Chess (Girls & Boys), Scrabble (Girls & Boys).

Chess (Boys and Girls) and scrabble for both genders are the new sports disciplines at the championship. These were adopted during the Kampala Meeting that was held in December 2024.

Note that no player is allowed to take part in more than one Sports Discipline.

There will be demonstration games in the following disciplines:-Beach football, beach volleyball, lacrosse and cricket.

The entries for demonstration events (3 teams for host & 2 teams for the visitors) but must be confirmed not later than 15th July, 2025.

Age Restrictions

All players must be 19 years or under. Born on or after 23rd August 2005.

Primary schools – under 15 years old, Born on after 23rd August 2009.

Slots

The host country will present a maximum of 4 teams per event while the other countries are expected to present a maximum of 2 teams per event except in hockey, rugby and netball where they are expected to present 3 teams per event.

Countries with defending champions shall bring an extra team in that event except in athletics and swimming.

Any country interested in increasing the quota must do so in writing to the Secretary, General, FEASSA, not later than 25th July.

Team preparation/uniform/dress code

The Ministry of Education and Sports through Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association will provide track suits (1 pair each),competition uniforms (home and away) kit and high quality casual t-shirt (1 piece each) for officials and athletes.

All players must dress in their official Country colors during the Championship.

Travel requirements

Passports/Travel Permits, yellow fever vaccination certificate, covid 19 vaccination certificate, valid school identity card, four (4) passports size photographs, a valid driving permit for drivers, insurance for cars / third party, medical check-up/form, consent letters/forms, accreditation card and original car/bus logs.

11thAugust, 2025- Flag off and departure

12th August, 2025 – Arrival of teams in Kakamega
