
Following a shaky performance on Monday , Ugandan teams gained momentum bounced back with sounding wins on day 3 of the FEASSA Games.
Bukedea Comprehensive School kicked off the journey on Sunday evening beating Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School 2-0 before St Mary’s Kitende.
On Monday morning, St Mary’s Kitende registered it’s first win over Kenya’s Highway Secondary School with a 2-0 score before Amus College shared spoils with Musingu Secondary School 2-2 later in the afternoon.
In the girls category, St Noa girls beat Butere Girls 2-0 as Amus College suffered a 2-0 defeat.
Day 3 In Summary
It was light work for Ugandan teams on Tuesday registering 4 wins and one draw that came in the highly contested derby played later in the evening.
Rines SS , Kawempe Muslim, St Julian High School and Amus College were the better sides of the day.
Boys: Light work for Ugandan teams
Amus College beat Ape Rugunga SS from Rwanda 2-0 to take their points tally to four.
Ugandan champions St Julian High had a winning start seeing off Tanzania’s Kalangalala SS 2-0. Simon Wanyama, Frank Ssenkusu scored St Julian’s goals in the first half while Dickson Bimarungu had the consolation for Tanzania.
Later in the evening, Two Ugandan teams shared spoils in a highly contested fixture played at Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Complex.
St Mary’s Kitende and Bukedea Comprehensive played a goalless draw in a game full of chances for both sides.
Girls: Tough for Host , Defending Champions off the mark
In the girls category, defending champions Kawempe Muslim had a bright start though with a slim 1-0 win over Kenya’s St Joseph Girls.
Host Amus College suffered it’s second consecutive defeat falling to Rines SS 2-0 at their own den.
