U-16 Football (FEASSSA Games 2022)
Champions:
Boys: Rays of Grace Academy (Uganda)
Girls: Bombo UMEA (Uganda)
It was all celebration at the TGT sports complex in Arusha, Tanzania as two Uganda’s U-16 football teams won gold at the 2022 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games.
Rays of Grace Academy and Bombo UMEA made it for the boys and girls’ respective categories in style.
In a tense and close to contest boy’s match, Rays of Grace overcame Tanzania’s Kibonde Maji 1-0 with tournament top scorer James Ssekate on target in the 5th minute.
Ssekate who finished with four goals to his personal account had also scored in the 3-0 win over Tanzanian side Kiyungi primary school and once against Ugandans, Paorinher Nursery and Primary School 2-0.

Meanwhile, there were celebrations for Uganda again as Bombo UMEA won the girls’ title.
The Ugandan young girls humbled two Tanzanian sides Alliance and Mwisenge alongside Habanom Quality, another Ugandan team.
