FEASSSA Handball Championship Kicks Off with Exciting Day One Matches

The highly anticipated Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association Handball Tournament began with a bang as teams from across the region showcased their skills and determination in a series of thrilling matches. Hosted at Groupe Scolaire Officielle de Butare (GSOB), the day witnessed intense competition and spirited performances.

Boys’ Category:
In the boys’ category, the opening matches set the tone for the tournament. Adegi (RW) triumphed over Kilombero (TZ) with a final score of 24-19, while Mbooni (KE) showcased their prowess by defeating Bombo Army (UG) with a score of 27-18.

Kakungulu (UG) continued the momentum with a dominant victory against Hospital Hill (KE), concluding the match with a scoreline of 31-23. In another riveting contest, Manyatta (KE) faced off against ES Kigoma (RW), but the latter emerged victorious with a score of 33-22.

The Bombo Army (UG) demonstrated their mettle by securing a win against Wampewo Ntake (UG) with a final score of 25-21. Kilombero (TZ) and Mbooni (KE) engaged in a fierce battle, with Mbooni ultimately prevailing with a final score of 28-24.

Girls’ Category:
In the girls’ category, the matches were equally captivating. Kiziguro (RW) put up a valiant effort, but St. Joseph’s Kitale (KE) emerged victorious with a score of 24-19. St. Joseph’s Miranga (KE) faced a tough challenge from Gombe (UG), resulting in a dominating 39-16 victory for Gombe.

Kilombero (TZ) and ISF Nyamasheke (RW) engaged in a closely contested match, with ISF Nyamasheke securing a 21-19 victory. Kibuli (UG) and Kawanda (UG) battled fiercely, with Kawanda emerging as the winners with a score of 27-24.
