The much-anticipated FEASSSA (Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations) Inspections for 2023 have concluded in Rwanda, and the host nation has received positive feedback from the visiting delegation. The inspection contingent, comprising representatives from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, was warmly welcomed by Karemangigo Luke, the President of the Federation of Rwanda Schools Sports.

During their visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Education, where they were received by the Honorable Dr. Uwamariya Valentine, the Minister of Education. Minister Valentine reassured the delegation of Rwanda’s readiness to host the games and extended her best wishes for a successful inspection. This affirmation from the Minister further solidified the delegation’s confidence in Rwanda’s capabilities as a host nation.

On the 28th of June, the inspection team traveled to Huye, the host district, to conduct assessments of the accommodation and competition venues. Their primary objective was to ensure that the proposed facilities meet the high standards set by FEASSSA. The delegation carefully evaluated various aspects, including the quality and suitability of accommodation, as well as the venues for different sporting disciplines.

As a result of their inspections, the delegation has made remarks regarding the sports pitches and facilities. There was a need to identify pitches for specific disciplines as follows: one hockey pitch, one football pitch, and one rugby pitch. These recommendations aim to ensure that each sporting discipline has suitable and dedicated venues for the upcoming games.

The inspection team was pleased with the level of preparedness displayed by Rwanda, and the recommended venues and accommodations meet the required standards for hosting the FEASSSA games. These recommendations will contribute to the smooth organization and execution of the sporting event.
With the conclusion of the FEASSSA Inspections 2023, Rwanda is now one step closer to hosting the games. The positive feedback from the visiting delegation, along with the approved venues and accommodations, further solidifies Rwanda’s position as a capable and well-prepared host nation. The anticipation and excitement among participating countries continue to build as preparations progress. The stage is set for an outstanding display of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the exceptional talent of East African youth.
