A header in either half was enough to send Rines SS to the final. Rines beat Amus College 2-0 to seal a place in the girls football final 2024.
Amus played Rines SS at Standard High School Zzana Ndejje campus play ground in the first semi finals of the day.
Rines SS struck first in the first half with Rinah Ayerango’s eighteenth minute header making the difference on the day.
Amus who were second best in most parts of the first period, suffered as they couldn’t match the pace of Rines’ forwards.
Amus College’s best chance came in the 34th minute where Edinah Wandera sliced through Rines’ defence to set up Edna Wanda on her right. Rines goalie had all it took to save Wanda’s strike and a corner was the best they attained from the move.
In the 50th minute goal scorer Ayerango turned provider to Halima Mupyanga with a sweet cross.
Halima’s header squandered Amus’ hopes for a comeback as they failed to create any clear cut chances.
Meanwhile, Rines SS will wait for winner between Kawempe Muslim SS and St. Noa Girls’ School to know their opponent in the final while Amus College will play the loser in the same fixture.
