Overview
Shamusa Najjuma and Sharon Kanyiginya first half goals were enough for Uganda Martyrs Lubaga to see off a resilient Boni Consili who only managed to pull a single goal back. The two played in the second classification of the day for positions 5-8.
Kampala zone champions Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga had a great start to the game scoring twice in the Opening ten minutes.
Shamusa Najjuma came up with an out of the world strike where she caught Boni Consili’s shotstopper in no man’s land to give the Lubaga side an early lead.
The Kiddas continued to pile pressure on the Boni Consili defence where their efforts were rewarded in the 9th minute where Sharon Kanyiginya shot deflected off the defender to beat Ninsima Benitah the Amus goalie.
It all seemed like a smooth ride for Uganda Martyrs until the 29th minute where Ariho Rinah pulled one back.
The Boni Consili goal was the turning point of the game as they were more direct which caused Uganda Martyrs plenty of problems.
Uganda Martyrs fended off the pressure and held onto their lead which takes them to vie for 5/6th position.
Following this defeat, Boni Consili Girls’ School will play Sacred Heart SSS Gulu on 21st June for 7/8th position while Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga will take on Sheema Girls’ School to confirm 5/6th position holders.
