High expectations from Ugandan duo as round one drivesoff at inaugural ISF World School Golf championship

It is the first of the four rounds at the inaugural edition of the ISF World School Golf Championship at the Royal Golf
Dar Es Salam course in Rabat city, Morocco on Wednesday, 16 th July 2025.
With the official practice round having been a success on Tuesday, the nerves were already shaken off and the two
Ugandan ambassadors are roaring to go on a world championship course.
Handicap 9 golfer Damian Asiimwe from St Julian High school Gayaza will be joined by Nyakasura School’s
Racheal Laura Natukunda to fly high the treasured black-yellow-red Uganda national flag in Morocco.
These two players are under the shrewd guidance of coach Isaiah Mwesige, with the USSSA executive
committee member Richard Muhumuza and president Justus Mugisha providing that crucial gallery as well as a
couple of Ugandans in Morocoo.

“We had a good practice round. The course is world class with great grass. The players had a feel of it and we shall
play according to the set plan.” Mwesige who runs the AFRIYEA golf academy in Fort Portal stated after the
official practice round session.
At 9:30 am, Asiimwe will drive off from the white tee-mark during match four.
He faces Morocco’s Sonia Bayahya and Pakistan national, Fatima Khan Shazmina.
Then at 9:40 am, Natukunda tees off alongside Morocco’s Hicham Rachidi and Serbian Elena Andjelkovic in match
five.
This is the first ever edition of the ISF Golf world schools championship, featuring both U-18 and U-15 age clusters
for boys and girls.
On the African continent, Uganda is joined by Morocco, Cameroon and Nigeria.
Four rounds will be played until Sunday, 20 th July 2025.
