Friday 6th April marked the official opening of the third edition of the International School Sports Federation under 15 Gymnasiade in Zlatibor city of Serbia.
Team Uganda shone brightly, proudly waving the national flag and showcasing the vibrant spirit of the Pearl of Africa among hundreds of young athletes from around the world in Zlatibor Serbia.
Uganda’s presence was warmly acknowledged during a festive and multicultural opening ceremony, which marked the start of the international youth sports festival. The Gymnasiade, returning to Serbia after its inaugural 2021 edition in Belgrade, has drawn around 4,000 participants from 55 countries and regions.
The competitions of the 2025 ISF U15 Gymnasiade will be held across five towns, namely Zlatibor, Uzice, Priboj, Pozega, and Lucani.
Young athletes from the world will also take part in educational and cultural activities, including “Nations Night” and “Culture Day”.




Serbia is playing host for this grand event from April 4th to April 14th for the second time having hosted the inaugural event in 2023.
Uganda is being represented by youngsters from Kibuli Secondary School and Seroma Christian High School plus a team for athletics.
The medal hunt is at four points that is badminton, table tennis, swimming and athletics.
From the moment they arrived, the Ugandan delegation has been fully immersed in intense training sessions, gearing up to leave a mark on the international stage.
