Kakungulu Memorial made it two wins in three games by thrashing fellow Ugandan qualifiers Gayaza High School 8-0 in girls’ hockey at the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games in Huye, Rwanda on Tuesday.

Winnie Atim led her teammates with a brace while there was a goal apiece for Lucky Akello, Jamirah Makubuya, Juliet Babirye, Thuwaibah Kiggundu, Brenda Achayo and Gloria Amony.

The win took the Ugandan champions to seven points in three games.

Their expected rivals for the East African title Nyamira played their second game of the competition and beat Ugandan side Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga 4-0.

Namangunga coach Vincent Kasasa put the performance down to having an inexperienced squad.

“Our squad has eight Senior One players and four Senior Two players. Basically, this year, we wanted to build the team and then next year we can put up a fight,” Kasasa said.
