Lugogo, Kampala – Uganda – The Kibuli Secondary School is leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for the upcoming World Schools Championship in Morocco. With just a little over two weeks remaining, the team is determined and confident about their chances in the prestigious tournament.

Hassan Tembo Isingoma, the coach of Kibuli SS, expressed his team’s readiness for the tournament. “We are preparing for the Morocco tournament, World School Championship, and barely, I think 2 or 2 1/2 weeks remaining,” he said. “And I can assure you that we are there, we are ready. Much as, of course, there are some small, small things that are still missing, we are trying to see how best we can patch them together. We will go when we are fully prepared.”

Isingoma also highlighted the importance of their recent friendly match with the KCCA FC junior team. “It’s good that we have had our first friendly match with the KCCA FC junior team, which, at least if you’ve seen that, at least you’ve seen our boys putting up a very good display,” he added. “We are very optimistic that they will have a good show in Morocco.”

The coach emphasized the team’s efforts to prepare the players mentally and psychologically, especially those who are participating in such a tournament for the first time. “We have been trying to make sure we prepare these boys mentally, psychologically, etc. because some of them, it’s their first time to play in such a tournament,” Isingoma explained. “So we are working on all those aspects so that at least by the time we leave this place, they are fully ready for that tournament.”

Katende Bahira Mukiibi, the captain of Kibuli SS, echoed the coach’s sentiments and assured everyone of the team’s readiness. “We have prepared, and we are just remaining with two weeks, coping up with our coaches,” Mukiibi said. “They are giving us physical training, fitness training, and mental training. We are ready for everything and ready to represent the country.”
