Mbogo High ,Kakungulu Memorial sail into QuartefinalS-Badminton

A fierce encounter at the USSSA Ball Game I competitions, Trinity College Nabbingo nabbed themselves a victory over St. Michael International School in the girl’s badminton category, the match showcased either team’s immense grit and determination to win as they displayed great skill throughout the match.

Match Highlights
Faridah Kabandana Nuwanga of Trinity College Nabbingo didn’t set off with the best of starts for her team as she lost to St. Michael’s number one seed Shanita Lovita Nabwire, with a 15:17 – 4:15 score.

Blessings Emily Biira of Trinity College Nabbingo followed and revived her teams hopes for victory as she defeated her opponent Peace Balongo of St. Michael International 15:13 – 15:2 which put both teams back to even ground

In the third set Vicky Ahabwe of Trinity College Nabbingo wasn’t as fortunate as she was utterly dominated by St.  Michael’s Sumin Mutesi with a scoreline of 8:15 – 3:15

This meant that the ladies then had to go into doubles as the game was now 2-1, the doubles started and Trinity College was on the hunt for a comeback once again as Blessing Emily Biira and Faridah Kabandana Nuwanga defeated Peace Balongo and Shanita Lovita Nabwire in a game that had a score of 15:10 – 15:11

The game was now at 2 to 2, the deciding game was Vicky Ahabwe and Leah Jjemba Ssuubi of Trinity played against Sumin Mutesi and Sophia Nassiwa of St. Michael and with the stroke of luck and a little bit of composure the ladies from Nabbingo managed to take the game with a scoreline of 15:11 – 15:11 retrieving the day for Trinity College.

The Coach Trinity College Nabbingo, Coach Frank Muwuluzi stated “the girls remained steady through and through we have trained hard and our determination has made us triumphant we hold steady for the quarter final”
St. Michael’s vice captain Sumin Mutesi acknowledged that the loss will push them to the second slot in the group but was overjoyed with the fact that they had hopes for a quarter final still intact she said  “we will definitely play a better game”

Result
Trinity College Nabbingo won the match 3-2, leaving St. Michael International School contending for the 2 place slot in order to advance to the quarterfinal stage
