The Otuke District Girls’ Football Tournament commenced on 18th March at Adwari SS playground, with four schools participating in the event. The competing teams included Adwari SS, the host and defending champion, Otuke SS, Ogor SS, and Okwang SS. Teams reported on 17th March for screening and preparation.

The first day of the tournament witnessed thrilling matches, with Adwari SS dominating Otuke SS in a 3-0 victory, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Okwang SS demonstrated remarkable resilience, holding both Adwari SS and Ogor SS to draws, proving to be a formidable opponent.

The competition is expected to intensify with upcoming matches, including Okwang SS facing off against Otuke SS, Adwari SS clashing with Ogor SS, and Ogor SS taking on Otuke SS. These matches promise to deliver electrifying performances and unpredictable outcomes.

The top two teams from the tournament will earn the opportunity to represent Otuke District at the Lango Zonal qualifiers, scheduled to take place at St. Mary’s Magdalene Girls’ School in Lira City. The teams will compete for a coveted slot at the National Ball games 1 tournament in Bukedea.
