PRESS RELEASE: ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN ELITE GAMES 2024 – JINJA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

In response to various concerns raised regarding student transfers and school closures affecting the online registration process for the upcoming Elite Games 2024, the management of Jinja Senior Secondary School, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mugisha Christopher Banage, has made crucial decisions to ensure fair participation and uphold the integrity of the championship.

Preamble:
The USSSA administration has taken note of the challenges faced by students intending to transfer between schools, as well as the impact of closed schools on the USSSA Verification System. To address these issues, a comprehensive decision has been reached to ensure a smooth and equitable Elite Games 2024 experience.

Key Decisions:

  1. Online Registration Access:
  • All players who are fully registered in the USSSA Registration System at the time of Elite Games 2024 will be considered as representatives of their respective schools.
  • The school affiliation will be based on the registration status at the time of the championship.
  1. Trial Championship and Student Transfers:
  • Elite Games 2024 is recognized as a trial championship.
  • A student participating for a school during the championship will not influence the ongoing transfer process.
  • Student transfers must be formalized by the Athletic Student Status Committee.
  1. Elite Provisional Accreditation Cards:
  • To accommodate students facing registration challenges due to ongoing transfers, Elite Provisional Accreditation cards will be issued.
  • These cards will be valid until January 31, 2024, enabling affected students to participate in the Elite Games.
  1. Continuation of Other Guidelines:
  • All other guidelines provided in the invitation letter remain unchanged.
