The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has announced an extension of the athlete registration deadline to ensure that all eligible participants have the opportunity to compete in upcoming USSSA games. This decision was made during the Executive Committee meeting held on March 8, 2025, after reviewing the registration progress and receiving feedback from stakeholders.
Key Resolutions from the Executive Committee Meeting:
- Extended Registration Deadline: The registration deadline has been extended from March 7 to March 14, 2025, allowing more schools to complete the process.
- Late Registration Fee Waiver: Schools registering athletes between March 7 and March 11, 2025, will not be charged a late registration fee.
- Late Registration Fee: A fee of UGX 3,000 per student will apply for registrations completed between March 12 and March 14, 2025.
- Provision for Transfers: The system will remain open to facilitate ongoing transfer processes, ensuring seamless participation.
- Strict Compliance Measures: Districts, zones, schools, and officials found permitting teams to compete without proper registration albums will face penalties.
- District Competitions Unaffected: The registration extension will not disrupt the scheduled start or continuation of district competitions.
The USSSA Executive Committee remains committed to fostering fair play and inclusivity in school sports. We encourage all stakeholders to take advantage of this extension to ensure full compliance and participation in the upcoming competitions.
