St. Noah Girls in Final Stages of Preparations for ISF World Schools Football Championships

Kampala, Uganda – The excitement is building as St. Noah Girls School’s football team enters the final stages of preparations for the upcoming International Schools Federation (ISF) World Football Championships. The prestigious event, set to take place in Rabat, Morocco, will see the participation of three teams from Uganda, with St. Noah Girls being one of them.

The championships, scheduled to run from July 22nd to July 31st, 2023, will bring together talented young athletes from around the globe, showcasing their skills and passion for the sport of football.

The Ugandan contingent, consisting of St. Noah Girls, Kibuli SS (Boys), and Amus College School (Boys), will be flagged off on Friday, July 21st, 2023, as they embark on their journey to represent their country at the world stage.

Securing their place in the ISF World Football Championships was no easy feat for St. Noah Girls. They displayed their prowess at the East African level, defeating Kawempe Muslim in a hard-fought match to earn their spot in the prestigious tournament.

To fine-tune their skills and strategies before facing international competitors, St. Noah Girls engaged in a practice match with UCU Lady Cardinals at MTN Omondi Stadium. The game ended in a victory for the girls, with the only goal being scored by the talented Kasemire Imelda.

In an exclusive interview ahead of their departure, Head Coach Mukubya James expressed her confidence in the team’s preparation, saying, “I have prepared enough. I won’t say that we have prepared and I know we shall get positive results. I have been working on their attitude and mentality because we are going to a foreign country. They’re going to face different teams, so I am working on their attitude and mentality so that they do not fear.”

Ayo Miriam, one of the players from St. Noah Girls Secondary School, expressed her gratitude for the team’s success in previous competitions, stating, “I first want to thank God for helping us through our nationals and last year’s games as we were the Champions of 2022”.
